A Message from the Committee
Sumner County will commemorate America's 250th anniversary with a special celebration on July 8th at the Sumner County Courthouse in Gallatin.
The evening will open with a ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence from the courthouse steps, followed by patriotic music and the unveiling of a monument honoring Brigadier General Jethro Sumner, our county's Revolutionary War namesake.
The program continues with the sealing of a Sumner County time capsule, food trucks gathered around the square, live music, and a spectacular drone show illuminating the night sky over downtown Gallatin.
This is a moment to honor the principles that founded our nation, remember the patriots who secured our liberty, and celebrate the community two and a half centuries of Americans have built together. I invite every Sumner County resident, and all our neighbors, to join us on July 8th for an evening worthy of this historic milestone.
