Story

Our Historic Sites video series begins today with a closer look at Trousdale Place, one of Gallatin’s most recognizable historic homes and an important part of Sumner County’s story.

Located near downtown Gallatin, Trousdale Place invites visitors to reflect on the people, places, and events that helped shape our community. The home is closely associated with William Trousdale, former Governor of Tennessee, and remains an enduring reminder of the county’s deep historical roots.

This video is narrated by Ken Thomson, Sumner County Historian. We are grateful to Mr. Thomson for sharing his knowledge and helping bring this history to life for viewers across the county.

We would also like to thank the Hendersonville High School AV CTE Program for their contributions to the filming and editing of these historic site videos. Their work has helped make this series possible and has provided a meaningful way to connect students with the history of Sumner County.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch, learn, and share this video as we continue highlighting the historic places that make Sumner County special.
