Story
Sumner County’s America 250 commemoration continues on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with two featured events in Gallatin honoring the sacrifices, service, and civic spirit tied to the nation’s founding.
The morning begins with the America 250 Patriots Remembrance Ceremony at 9:00 AM at 355 North Belvedere Drive in Gallatin. The ceremony is presented in connection with the General Jethro Sumner Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonel Anthony Bledsoe Chapter of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution.
Later that morning, the Sumner County 250th Celebration Parade will assemble at the Gallatin High School Football Field beginning at 10:30 AM, with the parade scheduled to begin at noon and end at Gallatin High School.
Together, the ceremony and parade offer two ways for the community to mark America’s 250th anniversary: first through remembrance, then through public celebration. Residents from across Sumner County are encouraged to attend, participate, and reflect on the people and principles that shaped the country’s founding.
