Our Historic Sites video series continues this week with a closer look at Bledsoe's Fort, one of the most important early settlement sites in Sumner County.
Located in Castalian Springs, Bledsoe's Fort, also known as Bledsoe's Station, helps tell the story of the county's frontier beginnings. The site is closely connected to Isaac Bledsoe and the early migration of settlers into what would become Sumner County and Middle Tennessee.
Today, Bledsoe's Fort Historical Park preserves a landscape tied to Native history, frontier settlement, archaeology, and the early development of the Cumberland region. It is a meaningful place to reflect on the people and events that shaped Sumner County's earliest chapters.
